Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) has specific physical properties that should be considered during storage and handling. Due to its relatively high melting point of approximately 18 °C, DMSO may solidify or crystallize at lower temperatures. This is a normal characteristic of the substance and does not indicate a quality defect.

If the product has solidified, it can be completely liquefied again by gentle warming, for example in a lukewarm water bath. Care should be taken to ensure that the container remains tightly closed and is not excessively heated.

DMSO should preferably be stored protected from light, in a dry place, and at room temperature. Direct sunlight and significant temperature fluctuations should be avoided in order to maintain product quality over the long term.

As DMSO is a highly polar solvent, it may react with certain plastics. Therefore, the product is filled into suitable DMSO-compatible containers. For storage, amber glass bottles or suitable chemical-resistant plastic containers should preferably be used.

After opening, the container should always be tightly closed again to prevent moisture or contaminants from entering.
